How Sweet Is Chickie Baby?

Just like alot of Kitty Cats.... they find the sunny spot and.... our new sweet little Chickie Baby found a warm spot in a window in our Utility room that has green plants & lots of sunshine! Isn't she the prettiest Siamese Kitty Cat you have ever seen? She is purr-fett and we love her so much! She loves to play with Dillan & Loves to sleep with us....so happy that Chickie Baby is with us!

Yes, I got up this morning and made vanilla cupcakes for the afternoon snack @ Dillan's school! It was fun and it reminded me of the old days when I was "homeroom Mom"!!!

Today On 1/11/11 @ 11:11 ....

I went out side for about 11 seconds to retrieve the newspaper today! It's the time of year where Tulsa can dip down into the teens ... temperature wise! We had a bit of snow last night and the landscape looks ever so pretty with a dust of snow!


I continue to be amazed by numbers and today is quite the remarkable one! 1/11/11.... Did any one get proposed to today? Alot of babies were born today all over the world! Alot of people might have even died? It's just another day... and when you go to bed tonight on 1/11/11 .... just wondering what you'll remember from this day? # 1 things I hope!

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning etc....

We were greeters @ church today and I bet we both said, "Good Morning" more times than we'll say, "Good Evening" when the sun sets tonight!


It was bitterly cold this morning and I know we would have preferred to stay home in our PJ's and sit by the fire .... but we didn't! We bundled up and greeted everyone who entered the huge wood carved doors at the south entrance... "Good Morning" ... "Welcome" !!!!


1st Presbyterian church has been in downtown Tulsa since the 1880's.... the sanctuary is one of the most beautiful in the United States! We are so pleased to be members of 1st Church and we love being "greeters" :)


I have to admit that I admire the great many people that get up every Sunday morning and get dressed nicely and head to church without blinking an eye.... we struggle every Sunday about going but.... when we do attend it always makes us feel better!

Chickie Baby Update....

Chickie Baby has already added so much to our life! She sleeps with us.... follows us everywhere we go..... & plays a lot:) She's purr-fect!

I Remember Mama ...

I don't remember my Mom when she was this young ... but you can see her lovely spirit! She still has it even though she can't remember!

Mama now.... Let's talk about youth to old age now ....

I sat down next to my Mom at the nursing home and she so cheerfully said, "Hi, It's so nice to see you!" I was so happy because I thought she knew who I was..... but she didn't. She was so delighted that I was going to take this picture and she smiled her now toothless smile and said "cheese"! Then she wanted to know what a camera was? "I'm Janie Mom! Remember there was Ann, Jill, Marty and then me ... Janie?" ...but sadly she didn't remember having children? I can't imagine not remembering Megan & Beau, seriously! She said I was making up silly stories because if she'd had children she would remember! She was so pleasant and loving like she has always been ... but she just does not remember me or her own life :( and it just about breaks my heart every time. But I remember her.....

When I left I hugged and kissed her and for just a split moment her eyes seemed a little more focused and she said, "Goodbye Janie" .... I had said, "It's me Janie!" so many times.... still, I would love to think she really knew me for just that moment :)

I'm so hoping that when she gets to Heaven, she'll remember everything!

Especially the part where I have always loved her back!

Sisters!

Jill York & Jane Taylor.... not just sisters, we are best friends too!

I met my sister Jill in Yukon Oklahoma at the one & only BAD BRAD'S BAR-B-QUE for lunch today!

She works nearby for an accounting firm who gives her one hour for lunch .... it just wasn't long enough to chit chat and enjoy our sisterhood :(

I don't think I have ever been in a restaurant that had so many deer heads mounted on the walls? My family never owned guns and we were definitely not hunters so it was a little creepy to have so many deers looking down on us while we ate bar-be-que.... it was downright disconcerting!

We were celebrating our birthdays & Bad Brad even treated us to some cobbler with vanilla ice cream! Jill's birthday was last month and my birthday is the last day of this month! Happy Birthday to us!

For Auld Lang Syne!

2010 was a pretty good year for "The Fashionable Utica Square Taylor's"!!!!
We went on some really fun escapades from the East Coast (Spring Training Florida Style) to the West Coast!
Stephen and I took a "road trip" that still makes our heart pitter patter :) Albuquerque, where I grew up and met Stephen while he was attending UNM! We went up on the Sandia Peak Tram & up in there famous hot air balloons! Then on to the Grand Canyon ... traveling through Arizona and through Nevada ... we spent a few days on the Colorado River and then on to Manhattan Beach where we lived once upon a time! We get to see Beau & Kim & Dillan on a daily basis so seeing Megan certainly becomes a highlight of most of our trips! We returned to California in November and had the best time! I lost a good friend and that was sad :( RIP Joan.) We had the best Christmas ... because of a certain 2 year old... the most exceptional little grand daughter on earth, our sweet Dillan Grace! So as the New Year begins we are thinking of the past and all the ones we love AND the anticipation of new people we will love, new friends and new adventures!

Just close your eyes and listen to the music and remember to "Keep Calm & Carry On" in 2011.....Blessings to all.....
