Her beautiful daughter Amber is a Rhodes Scholar knitter! Thank you Amber for letting me benefit from your artistic talents :) I love them!
And Thank you Bob & Rhonda for thinking of me on my upcoming 58th birthday!! We look forward every Saturday to our breakfast soirees!

A Pawnee Birthday Adventure!

My friends took me to Pawnee Oklahoma to celebrate my birthday!

We went to the world famous "Clicks" for lunch! I got to try a cheeseburger "Pawnee" style!

Clicks is famous for their funky meringue pies!

Who would have thought that "Dick Tracy" originated out of this sleepy little town?

Does anyone remember the old Rexall Drug stores? Paynee still has one on Main Street!

You just can't go to Pawnee without visiting Buffalo Bill's Ranch!

The Pawnee Bill Ranch was once the show place of the world renowned WILD WEST SHOW entertainer!

Buffalo Safari! We drove through the ranch and sometimes were just a few feet from these beasts!

There were hundreds of them roaming the ranch!

Some of them would even get on the little road and block our path!

This big guy practically put his head in the back seat window where I was sitting in Lynne's car!

I'm not sure if they even have tails? But that is a sign posted in a window in downtown Pawnee?

It was a really crazy fun day and only my two crazy fun friends could have thought of such a crazy fun birthday escape!

Lynne & Gail definitely "LIT A FIRE" under my otherwise pretty boring life!

The Disney Princess Live Show Was Simply Fabulous!

Watch this short video of Dillan getting her Cinderella Doll.... Pure Delight!

There had to be at least 500 or more little girls dressed in a Princess dress.... Every Disney Princess dress was represented! Lots of glass slippers & tiaras and magic wands! Dillan watched the entire show with the prettiest & sweetest smile on her face, she was in awe and full of fascination! The stories of Cinderella :) SnowWhite & The Seven Dwarfs :) and Beauty & The Beast :) magically presented by Mickey & Minnie and a few other favorite Disney Characters! I even shed a few tears during Beauty & The Beast! I had never seen the movie!

From what I hear ... Our sweet little 3 year old Princess Dillan took a nap just like a cuddly little bear in hibernation would have... after the show! Upon awakening, she was whisked away to a birthday party that included a clown & magician and lots more of happy stimuli ....

So are you wondering if Dillan's Abuelo loved all of this? Probably as much as our sweet "Dill Pickle" :)

Stephen and I absolutely loved this movie and we highly recommend it to EVERYONE! Please go see it NOW! Before the Academy Awards! In fact go see all of the nominees! It's really a fun year to compare and figure out great movie stuff! Once again, it just doesn't surprise me anymore now... how Stephen tends to cry at movies... once again he got very emotional and I dearly love him for his inner sweetness :) Of course, it seemed to be mostly over the wonderful dog ... who should have been nominated! The Artist was really a great movie!

Little girls love so many things! We are so totally embracing Dillan Princess-ness! Because we know that she will always be a Sweet Princess to us! Just like her Aunt Megan is still our Princess too! Two Princess Taylors, what a Kingdom!

Forget Dora The Explorer... Forget Yo Gabba Gabba! Even Toy Story is fading a bit! It's the Princess phase in this little girl's life! After wandering around the Disney store in rapture .... Princess Dillan actually wore the Cinderella wedding gown, glass slippers and veil out of the store! People passing by Dillan continued to comment on how beautiful she was ...If they didn't, she would stop and ask them, "Do I look pretty?" And then low and behold there appeared in her sight, a Merry Go Round with sparkling lights! Sooooooooo we took the trip fantastic! There are some moments in your life when time stands still, you forget your cares and woes and just live in the moment! Think about it? It always happens on a Carousel :)

Bill's Jumbo Burgers ... Next Door To Thelma's Bar!

I wonder who Thelma is? Was she Bill's wife? Or is it just another shack next door to Bill's?

We'd heard the "food buzz" that this run down burger joint was going to be featured on National TV!

We'd seen it along the freeway in a pretty shabby part of town ... And never ever never thought about sampling a Bill's Jumbo Burger until ......

Friends that know of my quest for the perfect cheeseburger actually double dared us to try one!

So yesterday on a quiet Monday we pulled up into their parking lot and much to our surprise, we couldn't even find a place to park! We parked next door at Thelma's bar! We had to wait for over 20 minutes for a Bill's special and because there is virtually no place to sit (a few stools inside and some picnic tables outside) we dined in our car!

I didn't expect that we would join our Saturday morning breakfast friends but Stephen insisted and I think it did him wonders! Dilly Deli was delicious as awhiles! On their menu they have a dish called Meg & one called Beau? How crazy is that?

Abuelo & Tay Tay love our IPAD cuddle time on the big bed with Dillan! She loves all the Princess videos and lately she has asked for Cinderella or Snow White! Some how the Betty Boop Cinderella cartoon always comes up and the song just keeps sticking in all of our minds ....

"I'm just a poor Cinderella, nobody loves me but me" When Abuelo sings it Dillan goes crazy because HE just can't be Cinderella!

Stephen saw these socks at SAK'S 5th Ave on Christmas Eve Day and loved, loved them! Some how a little Elf named Megan had them under the tree the next day! Fun socks!

The sweetest little old ladies of Tulsa make these books at the church! They are called Quiet Books! They show wee ones how to zip, tie a shoe, braid hair, match shapes, counting wheels of buttons, how to tie a bow, button a shirt & to tell time the old fashion way!

I suspect I'll have these house shoes forever! I love Ugg boots so I know I'll love these comfy round about slip ons!

Of course New's Years was pretty boring here! But we had Dillan just about the time she was to go to her bed ....The perfect place to drop off your Grandkids on the last day of the year! The young at heart go on to parties and celebrations! We all fell asleep together and in the distance we heard fireworks exploding and going bang.... and we fell asleep welcoming the New Year in our dreams!

Before they wheeled him down the corridor to the operating room he was looking pretty loopy and a bit scared.... but the Hernia operation was successful! He arrived at 5:30 am, they operated at 7:00 am and Stephen was home in bed asleep by 11:00 am! Pretty amazing!

It's been 36 hours and guess what? He's still sleeping and resting and he's still pretty goofy from his pain medication! But we are both happy it's over! He'll be back in action in a few days!

Lots of shout outs to all of you who were praying and sending messages of love and support! Thank you! It meant a lot to him!

We went to THE BEST STEAK HOUSE IN KANSAS CITY EVER! Majestic! And we love KC Jazz!

They hosted the most lovely dinner for us!

I didn't hit the "Mall" even once during my holiday shopping spree ...WHY? I just cannot stand going to the mall!!!! But when a little blue bird told me they were having a sale at the Disney Store, I fought the traffic and the crowds and I found a place to park only after 20 minutes! I was in search of a Snow White dress but they were out :( But they had the Cinderella dress & figurines half price! Adding to my shopping bag .... Fancy Snow White shoes, a Snow White T-shirt, a Cinderella nightgown, a Snow White nightgown!!!! Dillan was ecstatic when she and her Daddy came for a visit!

Back in the summer of 2010 we stayed at the famous La Posada Hotel in Winslow Arizona!

Stephen eyed this painting in the Tina Mion Gallery inside the hotel .......

He wanted us to buy it desperately and I hesitated unfortunately ...

Because for the past year and half he's talked about this painting at least a million times! Literally!

In the spirit of giving I ordered, received and wrapped the lithograph up for his Christmas present!

On the last day of 2011 we dropped it off to be framed and it will be hanging on our living room wall in about two weeks:)

In the 1940s, Harold Edgerton invented stroboscopic photography, which allowed him to create “stop-action” images such as a bullet piercing a card. In 1963, television made it possible for an entire nation to witness the stop-action assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and Jackie’s reaction. In a deck of cards, the King of Hearts is the “suicide king” — so-called because he is nearly always thrusting a sword through his head.

Some called JFK suicidal because he insisted on riding in public without bulletproof protection. I painted two swords for the theory that two bullets were fired from different directions. This painting represents the instant President Kennedy was hit. Jackie doesn’t know what has happened yet, but she knows it’s bad. The painting is meant to capture the last moment of innocence for Jackie — and for an entire generation.

Where were you when you heard about the President's assassination? I was nine years old at Inez Elementary School in Albuquerque New Mexico.

It's been 62 days ... If I had only known that day when Dillan walked out of our house, so excited to go to the fair, in her Jessie boots & cowboy hat with her Daddy ... I would have run out and told her not to forget about us, of course we told her a zillion times how much we loved her whenever she was here ... maybe I could have given her an extra hug? There's this cool place down on the river called The Blue Rose Cafe! It has outside seating overlooking the river.... unfortunately the river just wasn't flowing.... But the three of us had fun catching up! Of course, I had to try out the cheeseburger :)

I had such a pleasure seeing Lynne on Thursday .... she called on her way into town and wanted to know if we could grab some lunch! I couldn't refuse and I do love having lunch with girlfriends! We met at our old haunt "Ron's" and had a delightful time catching up..... the only down side was that we missed Kerri, who is somewhat permanently staying up in Montana for reasons that we totally understand :) i.e. Grand child! Having friends is a gift from God! Enjoy them and see them when you can!

Annie lives two doors down from our house and was rescued by our neighbor Ann! Even when our children were young I always thought it was important for the children to know who lives nearby and for the neighbors to know our kids, and now our grand child! Sweet Dillan Grace Taylor :)

Yes, I shout it from the roof tops on my blog but most importantly I shout it out all over Terwilleger Heights! I'm the creepy Grandma that yells "slow down" when Dillan is out front playing! She's had so much fun hanging out with the kids on the street!

Slowly but surely all of our friends on the street know who Dillan Grace Taylor is .... and what's most important is.... that she is beloved and a part of the next generation on the street! She might be one of the first but everyone really gets it.... The Grand Kids Are Coming! To the GREATEST neighborhood, established in the 1920's! South St. Louis Ave!

Dillan is so totally in love with Hayden next door, he's 8 years old :) We haven't seen our sweet Dillan for 7 days & 7 nights and I am beginning to miss her so very much!

I started searching the internet for the famous red felt cowboy hat to complete Dillan's Toy Story 3 outfit! I checked party & costume sites and then.... Hello, where do you find a cowgirl/cowboy hat? Yep, a country western store!
When Dillan's Abuelo saw the hat he choked up a bit .... remembering when he had a cowboy outfit & the same exact cowboy hat when he was a child during the 50's! A red felt cowboy hat brought back memories and will create new ones! Hay Howdee Ho!

The parents asked if we would put out a flag in his honor on Thursday & Friday and literally our part of the universe did.... we pulled out Grandma & Grandpa's 76th flag and even bought a mount for the flag! For a square mile or more, the flags have been waving in his honor! He leaves behind a pregnant wife and our Senator Inhoffe even spoke about him on the congressional floor yesterday! Our prayers go out to our neighbors The Hortons and to all of our service men!

Jaimie is back for his River Fest adventure! Joining up with his old cronies to have fun and get together.... the crowd just keeps growing every year!! As always, we love having Jaimie come to visit... we were so happy to spend a little time with him before he headed off to the river! My sister Jill drives a Jaguar, her license plate says, "Jill's Jag"! But having said that .... she wanted a car to toot around town and go back and forth to work that was low in MPG's! So she bought this car and asked her Grand Daughter to pick a color ... it needed a paint job! That's Ella! She's responsible .... the eyelashes were a gift from her husband, Shane!

Beau's off to New Orleans for a MMA fight to be a corner man for Jake Shield's .... Kim's off to Austin for a huge musical festival. So we have the pleasure of having Dillan back and forth with Grandma & Grandpa Hart this weekend :)
We picked up Dillan and spent about two hours dressing the freshly cleaned Cabbage Patch babies! Here is the finished result!

Afterwards .... we ordered PF Chang's to go and just relaxed with all the new babie's in the house!

Some twenty five odd years later!

Yes, every little girl puts away her dolls and moves on to her teenage years .... Megan did just that so very long ago! They were in the basement in a long tupperware container, all nine of them laying side by side, asleep! Just waiting for a day of awakening! They definitely needed to be washed so I put them in the washing machine! All of their little heads just floated to the top:) Do you remember Megan? They came with birth certificates & passports.... you even saved the shoes & clothes! Viva La Cabbage Patch!

Yes, it's true! My old bones are achy from dancing with Dillan for about a 100 times to this song today... After dining on Lobster Bisque for lunch with Abuelo & myself.... Dillan needed just one more burst of energy before nap time ....She insisted we put her "Prrincess" dress back on because she just couldn't dance in regular clothes!!!! Hello .... I get that! Atmosphere, costume & mood create great moments of artistic expression!

Just go with it Buzz! .... as Jessie herself would say!
Back when Megan & Beau were little I would have spent the time they were napping by picking up & doing the dishes etc....
One of the great perks of being a Grandma for me is that I actually have a legitimate excuse to nap along with this precious 2 year old plus 9 months .... bundle of love! She fell asleep with Woody & Jessie, however she asked a sleepy question, "Where's Buzz?"
Before we dozed off, we decided that he had gone to Infinity & Beyond and would be back when we awakened:)
Sure enough, that's what her first words were when she woke up .... "Do you think Buzz is back?"

Stephen and I had the pleasure of viewing the movie "The Help" this past weekend! Of course I had read the book and absolutely loved it! I was looking forward to the movie & in this case I really believe the movie lived up to the book! Stephen really, really liked the movie and declared it was the best picture he has seen all year!

PJ is Megan's long time friend! She was a bridesmaid in PJ & Jamie's wedding! She has spent the last 6 years celebrating Thanksgiving with them in their lovely Silverlake home!

The gang got together to see Final Destination 5 in 3D this past weekend!

Along with Abuelo & Grandmother Tay Tay....Woody & Jessie were propped up next to the ketchup & condiments! They watched me eat a kid's cheeseburger, Abuelo ate a Fat Guy Hotdog and Dillan exclaimed she was eating "The best grilled cheese sandwich ever"! Abuelo & Dillan each had handmade special milk shakes and she was so excited to dip her french fries into strawberry ketchup! At some point in our wonderful luncheon she stopped and just wanted to hug and hang on to Abuelo.... it was so sweet! I was sitting across from them and maybe I did get goosebumps & smile & record in my memory how wonderfully loving this moment was ... well because it really was!

So today Dillan learned to surf on her Dora The Explorer boogie board in the giant jacuzzi in our bedroom... Abuelo & I turned on the jets for the effect! We (along with Chickie Baby) hung out in the walk in closet with the lights turned off and just a flash light and read a book & made funny hand sillouette's on the wall and read a book that I so totally recommend to all! How Much Do I Love You!

From your fingertips to you toes and every way you can stretch.... that's how much I love so many people!

Also, she turned to Abuelo and said, "Now Settle Down Abuelo"!!!!

I've been wanting to say that with the same conviction for 38 years!

We were rolling around with hysterical laughter!

We packed up the Land Rover and headed north-east with Kim & Dillan! Our first stop was two blocks away ...to Fashionable Utica Square for Starbucks coffee :} We lunched in Joplin MO at Maria's Mexican Restaurant! With our tummies full of mexican tacos and chili rellenos ... we got back on the road .... listening to Micky Mouse cd's & Radiohead cd's!
Once we got to Chateau On The Lake, Abuelo & Kim headed off for hot stone massages & Dillan & I explored the hotel and went to the pool!

We really enjoyed our entire weekend and were especially sad to say goodbye to three days of pure luxury! We headed south to Arkansas so we could drive home through Springdale for some AQ panfried chicken:)

She seemed really proud to come to this conclusion .... I'm her Grand Mother.... And so proud!

We have showed her pictures of Megan and Beau when they were little, explaining that they grew up.... just like she will!
We have showed her pictures of Our Beloved Grandma (Stephen's Mom) ... I'm not quite sure she understands that Abuelo had a Mommy & Daddy?
All I know is that she called me Grandmother, and I was ever so proud to claim the name!
