"Home Sweet Home" Be It Ever So Humble......

The weekend before our trip to Sarasota I fell ill with a bad cold or something? I was just dragging for days and finally went to the doctor and begged for something.... he gave me a shot! I think it helped a bit but I still only had the energy to pack wrinkled clothes.... we made it to Florida via Houston, Birmingham Alabama into Tampa.... then an hours drive to Sarasota!
We stopped at Whole Foods and stocked up on some fun food, we drank some wine and danced on the beach that evening! So very sweet.... except now Stephen is getting sick!

I cannot ever remember sleeping so much in my life? On the beach and in our crazy 1950's Motel room! Stephen was able to go and see three major league teams play baseball during our spring training vacation! His brother Pete and nephew Max were in Arizona attending spring training games in the desert! I remember eating really good food but not being able to really taste it? Getting from one spot to the next was the biggest effort! One night we slept for 12 hours straight! Dreaming of our Memory Foam fancy bed! The general public in Florida is very old, there are alot of bad drivers, the gulf hasn't really any great waves to surf, there are alot of shells on the beach....I'm over Florida for a very long while!

Just before we left, our weather was beginning to be ever so delightful....Spring has arrived here in our beautiful Fashionable Utica Square! So you see, coming home was even more wonderful! We begged Beau to bring Dillan over and we played out side with her and went on a wonderful stroll, had a refreshing bath and most of all....Stephen and I are feeling better! Almost like we could go on a vacation???

Be it ever so humble, there is no place like home! It's true my friends....coming home to the things you love makes everything so complete! Love you Penny Kitty Cat, Love You Petuka Scottie Dog, Love you little grand daughter Dillan.....it goes on and on!

I just want to walk into my front door and enjoy the beautiful home we have created.....Next blog..... adventures around the homestead!

Dillan On Her Way To Sesame Street Live!

Spring Training Florida Style......

We are staying @ a pretty funky 1950's Motel! Squished between some high rise luxury hotels here in Sarasota Florida is the old Gulf Beach Motel! As you can tell by the slide show, the art work in the room is really "creepy beachy"! We have a kitchenette, two very uncomfortable double beds, a nice flat screen TV mounted to the wall, and a small screened in front porch! There is a grill pit across the way where families seem to gather every night to bar-be-que & let's not forget the shuffle board? There's even a small swimming pool! So why are we here? We are just a few yards to the sand and beach and surf! We come so Stephen can attend spring training baseball games & I can sit on the beach and read until my heart is content!

We stocked up on goodies from Whole Food Market .... but just the same, we did eat dinner out last night at the posh Crab & Fin restaurant in St Armands Circle, and breakfast this morning at a upscale eatery! I personally dined on a goat cheese & chive omelette! Good time motel living!

A Springtime Snow Bunny!

Today is the official first day of spring throughout the world! Thanks Kim & Beau for sending this adorable picture of Dillan Grace to us!

A Blanket Of White!

We had to de-ice the mini cooper this morning to meet friends for breakfast... but we ventured out into the snowstorm, just the same!

When we returned...
I immediately got a nice wood fire going in the cast iron fireplace!

We ran by Whole Foods yesterday and picked up a ribeye & seabass to grill this weekend? The grill is definitely accumulating snow!

If this keeps up, we just might break a record for snow this winter!

Official Season Ticket Holders For The New ONEOK Field!

We picked up our season tickets this morning in a snow storm! Our seats are behind home plate and the Driller's first game in the new stadium is April 8th!

250 Easter Eggs?

After Easter last year I came across a good deal on Easter eggs.... How could I resist? A box of 250 plastic eggs!
I don't remember but I bought napkins & plates & real egg dying kits.....So I know I'm destined to have an Easter Party for the family this year! I'm only hoping all of the family can come and celebrate!

Strolling Up To Fashionable Utica On A Lovely Day! Tomorrow Snow!

The day was just beautiful, it was 74 degrees....just gorgeous! Now tomorrow is another day! We are expecting up to 8 inches of snow! Yes, it's true! How can that be? Well I just don't know? Ever since we moved here we have been told to wait 5 minutes and the weather might change.... and so it goes! And so we live day by day and always make the best.... today was the best outside outing in along time! Oh, if it could always be like today!
P.S. We are expecting thunderstorms before the snow??????

The Tillandsias Have A Wide Range Of Habitats! Like Some Of Us?

We went to the Home & Garden show @ the Expo Square this morning after having breakfast with dear friends!
Stephen and I bought a Tillandsias plant! If I could be any plant in the world....maybe I would be a Tillandsias plant!
Why? The ability to adapt to different environments makes the Tillandsia one of the most "CAREFREE" plants in the world!
How do we adapt in life....just keep on accepting things, do it in a good way and love everything you can love!
Tillandsias live from the arid deserts to the rain forrests ....they find a way to survive and we will too!

What Happens When The Right Is Good, But You Think It's Wrong? And When The Wrong Is Bad, But You Think It's Right?

Oh, life's dilemmas are solved over how to put a new roll of toilet paper on the roller?
I stand by the "wrong" and Stephen stands by the "right" ..... who can really judge?
Who decided this in the first place???

The Ahwahnee Hotel Mission Chairs!!!!!!!

We bought not just one......

But two mission chairs....

Stephen has had his beautiful eyes on this chair ever since we stayed @ The Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park when Megan & Beau were children! They are ever so comfortable and yes, they recline! With the sofa gone and our new chairs in place ... we think our small family room will open up quite a bit! Yeah for National Parks!
Stephen said, "Mission Complete"!!!!!

Happy 95th Birthday Miss Johnny Coe!

I celebrated with the other "Ladies" @ The Famous Polo Grill in Fashionable Utica Square....it was Johnny Coe's 95th birthday! It was magical for her and I was so pleased to be apart of the celebration!

Johnny is an amazing woman for many reasons! She still goes to exercise class, is a church historian (she was baptized @ First Presbyterian Church 95 years ago) Born in 1915 .... She still drives herself everywhere, runs her own household and is an avid reader! What a wonderful women, it's a pleasure to know her! What's her secret? She breathes!

Mirror Mirror On The Wall......

Who's the fairest of them all?

Dillan's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo.....

Dillan loves looking at herself in the mirror.... she is fascinated with herself!!!! Of course, so are we!

LOVE

To a father growing old nothing is dearer than a daughter....
A daughter is a gift of love.
Certain is it that there is no kind of affection so purely angelic as of a father to a daughter. In love to our wives there is desire; to our sons, ambition; but to our daughters there is something which there are no words to express!
The tears are starting....
So sad to leave ...We will see you soon dear Megan! We miss you every moment you are away from us!“People so seldom say I love you And then it's either too late or love goes. So when I tell you I love you, It doesn't mean I know you'll never go, Only that I wish you didn't have to.”

Kim Taylor, the beautiful Mother of Dillan Taylor!

Our Beautiful Megan.....By Lord Byron

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Tripping The Light Fantastic!

It's so sad that you can't see how much I love my husband! Thanks for twirling me around the dance floor sweetheart!

Senior Prom! 1971 Janie Watts & Larry Tuttle...

Yes, I had a boyfriend in high school and he took me to my first Prom! Yes, my parents owned a wig shop & beauty salon! Yes, that is a "wiglet" on my head!!! Oh, the early 70's!
His name is Larry Tuttle and I think he's a dentist now! You can't tell from the picture but, I remember the dress being a very soft pale lavender. Larry was Homecoming King that year and he was the star player on both the baseball & basketball teams @ Sandia High School in Albuquerque New Mexico... a very fine catch for Janie Watts! We dated for two years and I enjoyed many trips to Elephant Lake in New Mexico with his family! He had the sweetest older sister and a squirrel of a younger brother & lots of Labrador Retrievers for hunting! I went hunting once with them and that was the one and only time I have ever shot any kind of gun... It's a lot harder than it looks.... we were dove hunting! Anyway, he went off to College and I started dating a football star named Randy Schmille! He was a year younger than me but I did think at the time he was the "cats meow"! I broke up with Randy Schmille the day I met Megan & Beau's father, my beloved husband Stephen Taylor! There were a few dates here and there with other young men that fancied me... but I knew right away that my destiny was with Stephen! It will be 37 years this coming July 28th! No love regrets here!

But, from the bottom of our hearts .... we can not wait to see Morgan & Jarret exchange vows!
