Meg Taylor and Beau Taylor are now friends.

I received a notice today that my two children are friends now! Can you imagine how SHOCKED I was to hear this bit of news? I thought or maybe just assumed, that they were friends when they were little, in elementary school, Junior & high school, through the college years and their 20's....I guess they were just sister and brother, siblings? It's so comforting to know they are now friends!!! And to think this "great news" came to me through an Internet social network! Thank you Facebook for creating a friendship between my children!

Where Is Love?

I found it with my friends last week! With Lynne, Kerri, Brooke and baby Matine! What a fun day!

Thursday, October 29, 2009

After Grandma passed away, I joined her Presbyterian Circle group who meet once a month ....I adore all of these ladies and I feel closer to Grandma because they still talk about her! One of the ladies is Katherine. She is so dear and loving and her husband Dr. Richard just pasted away last week. Stephen and I volunteered to "house sit" during the funeral ....I spent most of the time taking pictures of the flowers in her garden and the many bouquets that had been sent by friends and family. Richard & Katherine just celebrated 50 years of marriage this summer, they were a golden couple!

This Is Richard Hart... AKA "The Wizard"!

He is married to Grandma Gina (Kim's Mom) and he is a bona fide magician in real life! He's also one of three Grandpa's that Dillan has ....imagine what fun Dillan will have with Grandpa Wizard! Growing up around Richard will surely be magical!

Last night he told us that he had once lived next door to BOB DYLAN .....how cool is that! Stephen and Richard both grew up in Southern California in the Santa Monica & Malibu area! I can't wait for the day he pulls a rabbit out of a hat for Dillan and she screams in such delight! Maybe for her upcoming 1st Birthday!

She Heard A Bird @ Break of Day Sing from The Autumn Trees....

"You are 11 months old" the birds sang in chorus!

Dillan Grace Taylor ... Happy 11 months old today! Every one's already preparing for your first birthday next month! It will be the best 1 year old birthday party ever!!! Your Mommy is busy making birthday invitations! You are so loved!

Bob Dylan @ The Brady

We had been looking forward to seeing Bob Dylan and he didn't disappoint us too much....we just wish Bob had played more of his old songs from way back when!
We enjoyed a scrumptious dinner before the concert ... a favorite violinist serenaded us while we dined upon stuffed shells and swordfish!
We ran into Beau & Kim before the showed started! So exciting!

Beau and Kim had come with Gina & the Wizard and we saw them after the concert.... of course the conversation went straight to the topic of baby Dillan ... since we are two out of three sets of proud grandparents!
Twas the loveliest of evenings......

Walter Gets His First Scottie Dog Hair Cut....

Scottie Dogs are so fluffy and adorable as puppies...but @ one point they have to grow up?

The Scottie Dog is often thought to be the oldest of the Highland terriers!
Brave and alert, the Scottie is hardy and lovable (No doubt about it) Walter is charming and full of character! Playful and friendly as a puppy, he will mature into a dignified adult! The Scottish Terrier makes a very good watchdog! If you have been following my blog then you know how Walter has been growing this past year..... he is still the "Love" of Tim and Megan's life!

Thank you Walter for walking to Starbucks every morning with Megan....for protecting her and for being the BEST dog ever! And to Tim for sharing the endless LOVE that a sweet puppy brings into your life!
Walter is just the most adorable little fellow....and we all know I am partial to Scottish Terriers!!!
P.S. Hello Stephen ...
Our Scottie (Petuka) needs a bath!

Dillan's Great Grandfather is J.D. Pippins

I was reading the paper this morning and came across this letter to the editor! I was thinking, "Kudos" to who ever wrote this letter and then lo and behold .....I see that Dillan's great grandpa is the author!! J.D. is Kim's Mother's Dad and just about the nicest person ever! In fact, Kim's entire family is just wonderful and we feel ever so lucky that they are our in laws!

Letter to the editor: 'We get the point'
By J.D. Pippins, Broken Arrow

I'm thinking that probably 90 percent of the folks who watch the news have had the experience of having a needle stuck in their arm. We know what it looks like. We know what it feels like and usually we know why we are getting it.

The question I have is why do all of our news channels insist on repeatedly showing the needle, the plunge, the extraction of the needle and the anguish on the face of the children who are getting shots? It's good that they keep us informed about the need for vaccinations, but enough with the actual filming of the experience. We get the point.

Beauty Is A Joy Forever.....

Dillan models her new faux fur coat with Mommy!

Strolling Around Terwilliger Heights!

When Autumn flings her banners wide upon October air, All nature seems to thank its God for making life so fair!
Yesterday Abuelo & Petuka strolled with us!

Perfect Autumn weather has beckoned us to go strolling along the avenues!
On Monday Beau & I strolled over to Woodward Park so Dillan could see the rose gardens and the leaves changing colors on all of the trees!

Dillan brought along her new "baby doll"!

As never before it is our duty to train our children to behold the creatures & plants of NATURE which can never lose their identities because they can only be what they already are!
Hope you are enjoying the season too!

Harvest Moon

My sister Jill has really decorated for the Autumn this year!

I visited Jill and my Mom this past week in El Reno!

This is just a tiny glimpse of her decorations! She really ought to charge trick or treaters and give tours!

Halloween is in just two weeks!!! Have you made your costumes? I'm buzzing around making bumble bee costumes for Beau and Kim ....such fun! They have the cutest bumble bee outfit for Dillan....I love bees! Buzz...they pollinate our planet!

Ragazzi's On The Hill

I really did love St Louis MO....go when you can!

Good old school Italian....just got to love it!

A special enclave! The Hill in St Louis ... A portion of territory within or surrounded by a larger territory whose inhabitants are culturally or ethnically distinct! The best Italian I have ever had!!!!

It really was!

Stephen loves to talk with strangers, he's alot more social than you would imagine!

Over the years we have been to Saint Louis numerous times, but never made it to “The Hill”. Well, this time we were not coming home without going! The Hill is a primarily Italian neighborhood within St. Louis. The neighborhood is home to locally renowned restaurants, bakeries, and specialty grocery stores. The fire hydrants are proudly painted red, white, and green, the colors of the Italian flag. Old time baseball players Yogi Berra & Joe Garagiola grew up there!

The most notorious gangster in the history of the nation, Alphonse Capone, better known to most as Al Capone or Scarface, ran Chicago with blood and guns. A life-size mannequin of Al Capone is seated at a corner table... where Stephen joined Capone for a bit of chit chat!
He told him that violence never solves anything.....

Didn't Eat Here!

Would You?

Our Dinner Next To Vin.....can you hear the music?

We were so happy dining at Mike Shannons...and we just happened to be @ the table across from Vin Scully!

The hug begins but my camera doesn't

He was giddy with childhood memories and a long life of listening to Vin Scully annouce Dodger games!

Not since his birthday party on the "roof" or the last time we saw our sweet Meg ....have I seen Stephen so happy! We all have those really special people we would love to see and have our picture taken with....Stephen had his night in St Louis with Vin Scully!!! God Bless them both for loving the BEST American sport...BASEBALL!!!!

REMEMBER WHEN?

Your Mama said, "I'm running down to the Piggly Wiggly?

We found an abandoned Piggly Wiggly today! Couldn't wait to stop and take a picture!

St Louis Baseball Extravaganza!!!1

We stayed @ The Hilton At The Park! This picture was taken from the window of our room on the 15th floor! We could see the Dodgers warming up for the big game!

Stephen really loved this baseball collage of all the Cardinals through the years!

The lobby was full of great baseball pictures so Stephen was in heaven!

We headed over to Mike Shannon's ... where they promised to put us with the other "Dodger Fans"!!!!!

Brownies.....

Stephen and I ran into his brother, Pete ...today while having Brownie's famous cheeseburgers! We got a first hand account of the upcoming wedding plans for our niece Morgan! It's so fun to run into a sibling unexpectedly!

If you are looking for a classic cheeseburger at a great price you have got to give Brownie’s a try. Brownie’s is a Tulsa institution! The burgers are simple and delicious. Soft bun with melty cheese and a delicious patty. The freedom fries are similar to IN-N-Outs fries, hand cut. You would think they would have brownies on their dessert list....but no....only handmade fresh pies! Oh yes, you can order a glass of buttermilk ....Grandma always had the buttermilk!

BASEBALL PLAYOFFS BEGIN.....

Stephen and I are going!!!! Yeah!

Vessels large may venture more, But little boats should keep near shore!

Let me live my life from year to year,
With forward face and unreluctant soul.
Not hurrying to, nor turning from the goal;
Not mourning for the things that disappear
In the dim past, nor holding back in fear
From what the future veils; but with a whole
And happy heart, that pays its toll
To youth and age, and travels on with cheer!!!!!

Travel on with cheer sweet Dillan!

OMA (One Man Army) Beau Taylor

Beau came by this lovely Sunday evening with a gift for his Dad and I.....

A t-shirt with his face on the front?
Thank you Beau!
I know that "trolling" is a fishing term and that Beau hasn't caught a fish recently .... fishing in the internet world is different!

Halloween Costumes Are Being Considered......

Kim and Beau brought over the Halloween Costume that Dillan will wear for her FIRST Halloween! An adorable Bumble Bee outfit!
I promised to make them matching Bumble Bee outfits with my sewing skills.....wish me luck! Today while shopping up @ Utica Square.....Abuelo had to get into the act by getting this "goodies" trick or treat bag for Dillan to match the Bumble Bee outfits!
I'm not really kidding when I say we have almost 300 trick or treaters every year!!!
Okay, this picture isn't as cute as the bumble bee treat bag really is.....

A STONEHORSE CHEESEBURGER!

Anyone watching me take a picture of my cheeseburger today might have thought I was a food critic? I am a cheeseburger aficionado....this one was right up there with the BEST! Doesn't this picture make you hungry just looking?
Stephen had a crab & asparagus omelet with hollandaise sauce! Fashionable Utica Square was having the famous "Art On The Square" today.....hundreds of artists were set up with their artistic creations for sale!
We didn't buy anything but we really enjoyed seeing all of the talent that is out there is this wonderful world!
Dillan's great grandparents tapped us on the back....so good seeing them!!! JD & Rilda.....such nice people!
Happy genes that Dillan inherited!
Then we were off to the movie show.....
