On our way across T-Town today we saw something pretty crazy! I made Stephen turn around so I could take a picture with my Apple IPhone so I could post it on my blog with my new Apple MacBook!


Some clever "green" auto parts store needed a front door cover and recycled their old VW!! Pretty crazy fun! I think so!

NATURALIZATION CEREMONY

Our friend Omaira Rangel and 53 other people from all over this big wide world became United States citizens this morning! Alot of friends showed up to cheer her on...including Stephen and I and our dear sister-in-law Kathie Taylor!


People from every continent on earth, from over 40 different countries stood and raised their right hand and took the Oath of Allegiance before Judge Cleary in the United States Courthouse! It was a heartwarming moment and a great triumph for all of them to be citizens!


As Judge Cleary (Irish decent) pointed out, most all of us are descendants of someone just like Omaira who came to the USA in search of liberty and freedom!
For all of us who take our citizenship for granted, here are the words of the Oath of Allegiance!

I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state of sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by law; that I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law; that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion: SO HELP ME GOD.

Then everyone (and most proudly, the new citizens) stood and put their right hand over their heart and recited the Pledge of Alliance!

My darling Stephen has bought me a new toy to play with...yeah! I have been absorbed with learning how to master the MacBook for a few days now! So far I have only been on the phone with the Apple Support people for only 6 hours!!!

Stephen went to see the doctor and has officially been released!!!! They told him to come back in a year and gave him a special card to use while going through security at the airport!!!
Where does Stephen want to walk? Along the ocean in Manhattan Beach California...our old stomping ground! We hope to be booked into the fancy hotel "Shade" ....to celebrate his 60th birthday!

JUST A PICTURE.....

MISSING MEG ALREADY!

We had so much fun with Megan!!!! She was able to hit some thrift stores (her favorite Tulsa activity) We had lots of family time with Beau & Kim & Dillan...Lots of fun shopping!! She went home with a new toaster oven...Martha Stewart mixing bowls...new memory foam pillows...new sunglasses...new luggage...two pairs of shoes...most of all...the memories!!

A Taste Of Megan's Magic......

Megan had a huge project to work on while visiting...she had to create 30 very special invitations for an upcoming bridal shower!!! She could have ordered some nice invitations from the fancy stationary store or bought some cute already made ones from Hallmark...but no...if you really knew Megan you would clearly see that she couldn't do such a thing!!! She had to make 30 beautiful "one of a kind" invitations....using her sewing skills and the magic of rubber cement...here's a sneak preview!



The invitations are for her friend Lauren who is getting married this Autumn to long time love...Billy! The bridal shower is at the famous Trader Vics at the Beverly Hills (90210 zip) Hilton Hotel in the city of angels...Meg is one of Lauren's bridesmaids!!!

And we thought Petuka was a Scottish Terrier!!! Megan's suitcase came off the airplane tattered and torn...so it was time to retire her 10 year old bag for some sporty new hounds tooth luggage! The old suitcase was a birthday gift from Grandma and has accompanied Megan on many memorable journeys! "She" was a nice traveling companion and was so good at keeping Megan's things together...you could always spot her coming down the baggage claim ramp because she wore a fashionable bright orange tag that said she belonged to Meg! May she RIP....

SATURDAY MORNING AUGUST 1st 2009

Every time Megan comes to town she wants to go to Brownies for their famous cheeseburgers....Saturday morning was a "BROWNIES HERE WE COME" day!
Morgan (Meg & Beau's cousin) and her really nice boyfriend Jarret joined all of us for a great start to our weekend! Of course Megan and Dillan were the center of attention!










WHAT NEXT?
Beau and Kim took Dillan swimming and Megan and I went shopping!!!!!

Friday Night Again @ Dalesandro's....

MEGAN WAS ECSTATIC TO SEE DILLAN FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE CHRISTMAS...TWAS A GREAT REUNION...DILLAN TOOK TO HER AUNTIE MEG LIKE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY....LIKE FRED AND GINGER.....JUST TWO PEAS IN A POD...WELL YOU GET MY POINT....IT WAS HEARTWARMING TO SEE THEM TOGETHER!


Baby Dillan came over and Meg got to babysit while Beau & Kim dined at Dalesandro's!


Abuelo and I got into the fun with baby Dillan too!


Cuddles and Kisses and goos goos galore! We then switched places and Beau and Kim came for Dillan and we dashed off for our time at Dalesandro's....and what a time we had!!!




WHAT A DELIGHTFUL TIME WE HAD AS A FAMILY...WE WERE JUST HAPPY IN OUR HEARTS TO BE TOGETHER!

36 Years Ago Today We Became Newlyweds.....

The Newlywed Game
Synopsis: Four husband-and-wife teams compete. The object calls for the wives to predict how their husbands answered certain questions, and vice versa. The team with the most correct answers is the winner and receives merchandise prizes.

We were married on July 28th 1973 in Albuquerque New Mexico @ 11 minutes past the hour of eight o'clock on a beautiful Saturday evening...the next day we left for our honeymoon to Hawaii!!! When we returned to the mainland we settled into a charming apartment on Sunset Blvd in Pacific Palisades California!

A few months later we starred on the actual TV show! We were couple #1 of the four positions...when the bonus question was put forth we "matched" and jumped from last place to first place! Steve & Jane Taylor...Couple #1 still... 36 years later!
P.S. We got a Happy Anniversary card today from Bob Eubanks....how cool is that!

THE COUNT DOWN BEGINS......

In approximately four days Megan will be arriving at The Tulsa International Airport!

Unfortunately the Handsome Tim Root and Scottie dog Walter will be staying behind :( But the good news is that Stephen and I will be headed to sunny California in early September and we can see Meg's two most favorite fellas then!

GUESS WHAT???????

A day we'll all remember but most likely forget....so I just had to blog about this most momentous occasion....DILLAN'S FIRST TOOTH!

Now a few words of advice from Grandma Tay Tay...

A smile cost nothing and can be given away so easily...
Remember to chew your food twenty times each bite...
No biting...and brush...brush...brush your teeth at sunrise and sunset...
Flossing is essential to healthy teeth...

While Tim and his best friend Craig were off camping in Big Bear.....guess what Megan was doing as a surprise? Yep...the picture says it all...she painted the wall in chalkboard paint!! Now she can draw on a new headboard everyday and draw creative designs and draw flowers when she can't afford fresh ones....notes to herself and notes to Tim and notes to Walter! Isn't our Meg just the most creative lovely young lady on the planet? She's number one in my world!
Megan will grace us with her presence come this next Friday!!! Yeah!
