Strolling To The Park...Woodward Park!

Strolling a brisk few minutes from our humble abode, I can enter the closest thing to heaven near our home! Woodward Park! I've really have enjoyed showing Dillan such a peaceful outdoor paradise! We stop every few yards in her stroller so she can see some of nature's best! Flowers! And lush green...always a soft comforting breeze... Aromas of springtime! On Wednesdays we can visit my friend Kerri who volunteers at the Tulsa Garden Gift Shoppe!


Our Son Beau and his precious family live right across from Woodward Park! When they look out their front window....this is what they see! A giant bronze statue of an Indian on his horse! Pretty cool! And they see the magnificent park too!


AND I SAY TO MYSELF....WHAT A WONDERFUL LIFE!
....SO MAYBE IT'S TIME TO REALLY TELL YOU ABOUT OUR GEM OF A PARK!

Woodward Park Is In Our Neck Of The Woods...

We live less that two blocks from Woodward Park! How lucky are we? I'll tell you!
Woodward Park is 45 acres....Boasting a wide variety of horticulture delights! Including...rock gardens, an English herb garden, a terraced Italian Renaissance rose garden (over 9,000 rose bushes), a Victorian conservatory (Lord & Burnham), a three acre arboretum and an azalea garden featuring over 15,000 azaleas! Ponds, quaint little bridges arching over the babbling brooks, picnic tables and benches strategically placed to make you feel serene with nature! The now famous Linnaeus teaching garden is new and absolutely gorgeous...with waterfalls...it features plants that are native to these parts and easily adapted into your own back yard! An old mansion that is now the headquarters of the Tulsa Garden Society....also the cutest little gift store! The Tulsa Historical Society (another old mansion that was recently renovated) is also attached to Woodward Park with fascinating exhibits and stunning artwork! That's how lucky we are!
If you live in Tulsa or just passing through on old Route 66.....stop and spend a bit of time in a very tranquil place! Woodward Park! Oh, and don't forget to look us up!

SHIELDS VS LAWLER AS SEEN ON "SHOWTIME"!!!!



Who's that good looking guy in the center of the picture? Everyone's favorite "corner man" BEAU TAYLOR!!!!!
Beau traveled up to St Louis to be the corner man for his good friend Jake Sheilds! They became best friends while wrestling in college on the central coast! In front of 8,867 UFC fans....Beau helped Shields win his 12th victory in a row!
Beau was just recently signed by the famous Dale "Apollo" Cook to announce all the fights on TV & Radio in this area of the country! Look for him on ESPN next! He also goes by "ONE MAN ARMY"!

This will probably be the longest blog I have ever posted! I wish I had the means to post older pictures of her when she was first born...crawling...kindergarten...3rd grade...etc! Just take my word for it...she was as adorable then as she is now! She was born 33 years ago with two inches of curly brown hair and like now...a smile on her face! We loved her before she was born and we love her now even more! Why? How could you not? She's always been a STAR! Shining up in the Heavens!

Local Tulsa Horse Takes On Belmont!!!

The Belmont Stakes has a Tulsa horse running! Charitable Man will face nine rivals in the 1 1/2 mile "Test of Champions" Isn't he a good looking horse! Post time is at 5:27 this afternoon! I read once that there were more horses than people in Oklahoma?

Fair Meadows Was Fun!

A good time was had by all....we joined Stephen's brother Pete and his lovely wife Kathie....and our adorable son Beau and beautiful Kim....It's free and fun! Where? The Tulsa fairgrounds!

The 61st NBA Finals Start Tonight!!!!

There's jazz tonight up at Utica Square for Summer's Fifth Night! Fair Meadows opens tonight...(34 day racing season)... Thoroughbreds, quarter horses, paint and appaloosa horses will be racing! Where will you find us?

That's right....HOME....watching our beloved Los Angeles Lakers beat the Orlando Magic! The Lakers have been in the finals...30 of 61 seasons...they have won 14 times! Isn't that AMAZING!

Months ago while we were in Sarasota Florida for Spring Training...Bless his heart...Abuelo wandered into a baby shoppe and bought this cutie swimsuit for little Dillan! I knew then that the sweet baby had captured our hearts forever! Short of buying a plastic pool...what else could I do that would be cool? Any ideas? Let's think out side the box? Baby wading pools?

It's been so hard to keep this a secret....but thanks to my blog...firstnamejane.blogspot.com.....Sweet Baby Dillan Grace has gotten such exposure! Can you all imagine how cool this is? She's on the cover of Parents Magazine! It pays to have a blog about cute grand babies! Shout out to all of you grandparents! This photo shoot alone has paid for Dill to attend the finest ivy leaque schools for four years! Dillan is destined for greatness!

What do you think of this? Lynne @ Lawrence were taking this week off to go to Mexico with our church group to build a home for the less unfortunate...but the sheriff of the town was murdered by the drug cartel and the swine flu epidemic in Mexico....caused everything to be canceled! So now they are on their honeymoon! They have either headed to points north or to points south....with their motorcycles on a trailer...to explore their new found marriage and seek out new adventures! I sure hope they are having the time of their lives! Hope you have many years of wedded bliss!

GOODBYE RIVERCITY TRADING POST!

For those of you that do not know....I had a booth out in Jenks, Oklahoma @ The Famous Antique store...RiverCity Trading Post! Going on two years now! But it's over now....I closed out yesterday with the help of dear Stephen!


We filled up the Land Rover and headed home without any tears! As Stephen loves to say, "Less is More"!! See anything you like? I'll mail it to you if you pay the postage! Or just come to my garage sale! Purveyor of whimsy no more!

Stephen and I ventured over to the Circle Cinema on Sunday to see this GREAT movie....

Miguel Santos, a.k.a Azucar, a Dominican pitcher from San Pedro de Macoris, struggles to make it to the big leagues and pull himself and his family out of poverty. Playing professionally at the Kansas City Knights baseball academy, Miguel finally gets his break at age 19 when he advances to the United States' minor league system. Miguel travels from his tight knit community in the Dominican Republic to a small town in Iowa, corn country, where he and a couple other Latin American teammates are the only Spanish-speaking people in the vicinity. As Miguel struggles with the new language and culture, despite the welcoming efforts of his host family, he is faced with an isolation he never before experienced. When his play on the mound falters, he begins examining more closely the world around him and his place within it, and ultimately questions the single-mindedness of his life's ambition.
