Now meet Barry & Serene ...Mia's parents! They are the TOP real estate agents in Manhattan Beach and we first met them when we signed for the "girls" first apartment in Santa Barbara! They are so fun and we really appreciated them coming to wish Stephen a happy 60th! Jess also came....showing off her gorgeous engagement ring! Jessica is Mia's younger sister! It was good to see you Jess, we wish we could have met the lucky young man!

Our good friends Bob & Rhonda (you can usually find the four of us together on Saturday mornings @ cool breakfast gatherings) ...they lovingly sent Stephen a huge basket full of fruit, specialty cheeses, deep dark chocolate, nuts, gummy bears & so much more!! If that wasn't enough?....Along came a bottle of exquisite champagne in a ice bucket! Thank you guys! We celebrated in style because of you!

Sweet Grandma Taylor came from a family of 7....everyone you see in my blog that are cousins are direct descendants of the Vatcher family! Uncle Donny is now the patriarch of this wonderful family! The Godfather of children, grandchildren and great grand children of all of his brothers and sister! What an honor! He's a dear man and we all love him so! And what about his wife? Aunt Barbara is witty, funny and just a joy to be around!


Just a note to Chris & Chris & sons....we missed seeing you! Stephen is still smiling from the good time he had on that rooftop, just a few days ago!

Matt D'Andrea is the son of Stephen's cousin John D'Andrea...a famous pediatric doctor in California...Matt plays football and has a younger brother and sister (Grace)....they were on the rooftop too!
Jimmy Vatcher is Aunt Barbara & Uncle Don's youngest son....a famous baseball player for many years! All baseball fans should google this amazing guy!
And that sweet baby is Graham....who knows his future? President of the United States? Jimmy's wife (Dena) was adorable and his other son, Jack, was cute as a button! (Just wish we had pictures to post of them) We were just ecstatic that all these great people made it to the roof to celebrate Stephen's 60th birthday! Thanks everyone!

Best Friends Forever!

Paul and Stephen go all the way back to childhood days....they stay in touch all the time because they are huge baseball fans!
Now Dwight is another issue! Stephen told Megan he wanted to see his old friend Dwight so very much....he came to our wedding 36 years ago and they had lost track of each other! You can always count on Megan.... she tracked him down and Dwight and his lovely wife Deborah popped up on the deck and made Stephen's evening the biggest splash!

I think I could have fainted with giddy exuberance when I looked up and saw my best friend from the Manhattan Beach days! This is a picture of two Moms that had two kids .... that lived in Manhattan Beach back in the day! Beau & Little Greg could be found skateboarding or playing baseball or boogie boarding .....Megan and Kelly liked to lip sync to Madonna! Nancy and I were stay @ home Moms and our families share so many fun memories! Nancy's husband, Dr. Big Greg couldn't make the soiree :( BUT Kelly and her nice husband Miles showed up....we loved seeing them! We REALLY loved seeing them! :)

We spent some great times at the beach....just hanging out and soaking up the sun! Stephen caught some great waves....the temperature in the water and on the sand were perfect!!!!

Palm Springs Beauty!

Megan spent some time this weekend in Palm Springs for Lauren's bachelorette party!

Celebrating 60 Years With Stephen Taylor!!!!!

The birthday begins ....Stephen picked up a Starbucks and headed straight for the beach! I joined him a bit later and Megan drove over and picked us up to take the "birthday boy" to dine on his favorite cheeseburger! In & Out! We dropped Stephen back off at the ocean and Megan & I did some shopping :) ... then we joined Stephen for some relaxing hours at the sea shore! It was a glorious day! When we got back to our luxury hotel (Shade) my new glasses had arrived! I love them, SWISSflex, so light weight and hip! Stephen spent sometime on the rooftop in the super cool jacuzzi pool...checking out the real estate... dreaming of moving back? We dined at Manhattan Beach's famous Mangianos...... then sadly, the birthday ended!

Baseball Birthday Greetings!

Stephen's favorite baseball player of all time, Tony Perez signed this birthday greeting to him ....Tony has been married to his lovely wife, Petuka, for almost 50 years! Now you know why we have a dog named Petuka!


Stephen is meeting his lifelong friend on Monday night for the Dodger vs Pittsburgh Pirates!!!! "We have at least two more months of baseball to which we can look forward", said the birthday boy......

Stephen Bought Me A Scanner...Yeah!

This is the first successful scan from the nearest photograph I could get may hands on ... it was taken @ Mia & Gavin's wedding in Laguna Beach, California!



I have been wanting a scanner so I could go through our old photos and put them on my new Macbook! I'm going to have such fun! If I wasn't getting ready for a big party we are having this evening....I would already be dragging out the boxes of photos! Patience is a virtue!

Everyone's going to the Tulsa Driller game tonight for fireworks & fun & to say their final farewell to the old stadium!


Tulsa has one of the finest double A teams in the country!


The new stadium ..... Yesterday, it sat empty. Seven acres in Tulsa’s historic Greenwood District. Land deeply rooted in our city’s past, yet forgotten as Tulsa grew. Now, an extraordinary community partnership takes the next step in the revitalization of downtown Tulsa. The new home of the drillers will be ready for next year's season!


Stephen has bought season tickets for ONEOK Field! We are so excited!
